An Update from Love Learning Music

 Dear Friends of Love Learning Music,

We're writing to share some important news about the future of Love Learning Music.

After careful consideration, and due to ongoing funding challenges, LLM will be entering a period of strategic hibernation effective September 1, 2026. This means we will be pausing our programs and operations for the foreseeable future.

This was not an easy decision, especially given everything this community has built together over the past ten years.

For nearly a decade, Love Learning Music has worked to make music education and therapy accessible to every learner - not just those who could easily find their way to it. Over that time, we've had the privilege of serving over 10,000 people, reaching across 4 states and 6 countries, and building relationships with more than 40 partner organizations along the way.

That mission took shape in classrooms, homes, and community spaces across Middle Tennessee: sensory-friendly music sessions that opened doors for children of all abilities, and music therapy programs that brought the benefits of music to residents in care communities. It showed up in visits to local schools, in summer camp partnerships, and in countless individual lessons that gave students - many of whom might not have had access otherwise - a chance to find their voice through an instrument. It showed up, too, in the traditions our students and families looked forward to each year: annual recitals celebrating student growth, a benefit concert supporting our mission, and after-school music programs like choir, rock band, and orchestra that gave students a place to belong.

Under our parent organization, Love Learning Plus, that mission also grew through Middle Tennessee Woodwind Orchestra, JP's Music Room, Limitless Legacy Theater Company, and more - each one an extension of the same belief: that music belongs to everyone. We've also worked to build the field itself, recently taking part in a Music Therapy Summit steering committee and a music therapy town hall focused on accessibility here in Nashville, and participating twice in Music Therapy Hill Day on Capitol Hill, advocating for music therapy at the state level.

None of the past ten years would have been possible without the families who trusted us, the partner organizations who opened doors, the educators who showed up with care, and the community that believed music education and therapy mattered enough to support it. We're endlessly grateful for that trust, and we hope you'll carry the spirit of accessible music therapy and education forward - whether with us in the future or through the many wonderful independent providers, organizations, and programs in our area.
