Summer Happenings
Check out this amazing performance by one of our students from our recent recital!
Love Learning Music Recital Event
On May 11, Love Learning Music hosted our first-ever recital event to highlight the hard work of our amazing students and teachers! Four teachers, nineteen students, and countless family and friends came to celebrate the positive impact of music. We had students showcase their skills and confidence with drums, piano, guitar, and voice. Some students performed music they had written themselves! In honor of Mother’s Day, our students gave individual roses to all the women in attendance as a token of appreciation for their unwavering support. After the performances, Love Learning Music hosted a free dinner for students, families, and guests to join together in fellowship. Love Learning Music would like to thank our generous donors, Edley’s Bar-B-Que, Rock N’ Roll Sushi, Firebirds Wood Fired Grill, Costco, Panera Bread, and Olive Garden, for donating to our recital event. A special thank you also goes to Donelson Heights United Methodist Church for graciously providing the venue for both the recital and the fellowship dinner. This recital was a wonderful kickstart to our summer season!
Performance At New Hope Academy
On May 6, one of our incredible teachers, Miss Allee Williams, directed an end-of-year choir performance at our partner school, New Hope Academy. This event, titled ‘Gospel Choir Concert,’ featured an ensemble of 85 talented students from the 3rd, 4th, and 5th grades. Each grade had the opportunity to share their individual selections, culminating in all the students performing together for the grand finale.
MNPS Spring Semester
May was a busy and joyous month, from student performances to the conclusion of our Spring semester, we are so proud of all the children, families, teachers, and therapists! This Spring at Metro Nashville Public Schools, Love Learning Music provided after school music education to 240 students in 3 elementary schools and 2 early learning centers. Our teachers went to the schools and early learning centers every week to teach students about instruments, movement, and rhythm; most importantly, listening skills, literacy, confidence, and social skills. Look at the pictures and videos below to see our students learning how to develop well through the power of music!
Summer Programs
The month of May wrapped up by preparing for our Summer programs! We are thrilled to announce both new and returning partnerships for this year’s music therapy and music education initiatives. Love Learning Music is proud to return to the Special Kids’ Camp Ability this June, where we will provide music therapy to 50 youth with special needs. Each week, two of our board-certified music therapists will be on-site to lead group music therapy sessions for the campers. We are also delighted to once again join MNPS’s Promising Scholars summer program, offering music education to their students throughout June. In addition to our returning partners, we are excited to welcome three new partnerships this summer: the Martha O’Bryan Center, East Nashville Hope Exchange, and YWCA’s Girls Inc. As we start providing programming with partners, we are thankful to all of you who make our life-changing programs possible. Thank you to all of the parents, child development professionals, volunteers, and donors!
