Summer Ends with Care, Love, and of course, more music!

Summer is here, and the Spring semester was a life-changing success for all of the Love Learning Music programs.
Recital Event

On Sunday, May 18, Love Learning Music hosted our second annual recital event at The Pavilion Church in Nashville, TN. We had 17 students perform a variety of songs, including original compositions, jazz piano, classical piano, fiddle tunes, guitar covers, and more! These students showcased their talent and hard work among family, friends, and their incredible teachers. We are so proud of their dedication and bravery to go on stage and perform in front of an audience. Check out the photo below to see one of our students in action at the recital!
Spring Semester

Love Learning Music has officially completed our Spring semester of programming! From January through May, our music therapists and teachers provided afterschool group music therapy sessions and music education classes at 4 Metro Nashville Public Schools, serving over 100 youth. The students learned about instruments, songwriting, rhythm, social skills, literacy, and more! We also attended Whitsitt Elementary School’s Power Monday and provided group music therapy to their Pre-K students, focusing on gross motor skills, socialization, rhythm, imaginative play, sequencing, and body awareness. Additionally, Love Learning Music provided group music therapy at the Embrace Special Needs Family Gathering. Our music therapist provided a safe and supportive environment for children with disabilities and their families to explore musical instruments, sing social songs, express themselves, and regulate their emotions. Lastly, Love Learning Music provided group music education classes at Hermitage Community Center, where students learned about music theory, instruments, expression, listening to others, and movement to music.
Free Music Therapy Opportunities

Love Learning Music is excited to continue our music therapy programs funded by the Tennessee Arts Commission grants! Through June 15, 2025, the Arts Build Communities (ABC) grant is funding monthly group music therapy Sensory Sessions at the Linebaugh Public Library in Murfreesboro, TN. The sensory sessions are free and open to youth of all ages, focusing on music activities designed for children with sensory needs.
There is only 1 date left for the season:
Saturday, June 7 from 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM.
The Tennessee Arts Commission is also funding our Music Therapy for Underserved Children program through their Arts Access grant, allowing for free group or 1-on-1 music therapy sessions! This program is specifically designed for underserved children 0-18 who have special needs, have experienced trauma, are economically disadvantaged, or lack access to essentials like healthcare and education. Again, these programs are funded through June 15 of this year, so please get in touch with our program director, Kaitlyn Williams, if you are interested or have any questions.
