Music Therapy and Education for All!

When the kids want to have a performance to celebrate their growth from music therapy, we get a great video! Enjoy Daidrian & Alaya’s performance by clicking the video below.

It may not take much time or money, but volunteering and donating make a big difference in helping children and families in need. Advocacy typically involves a low commitment but a high value for our life-saving work through Love Learning Music! Thank you for reading our newsletter and being a part of the Love Learning Music Family.

Advocacy Saves Lives

Surprisingly, our lawmakers have finally recognized this, and we have an exciting bill moving through the TN state legislature to make Music Therapy a licensed therapy. This monumental law will allow Love Learning Music to charge insurance for life-saving music therapy services. In doing so, the children that need us most can receive therapy services at little to no cost. Love Learning Music is constantly working on grants and fundraising to build our Support A Child Team and cover therapy costs for children in need. Finding the funding for every child that needs help is possible with unity and generosity. Although, the possibility of billing insurance is beneficial! Thankfully, some of the Love Learning Music team joined the TN Music Therapy Task Force to advocate for the children and families of our state legislators. We are doing our best to ensure this bill is signed into law. Do you want to help? Please contact your state senator and representative to say, “I support HB0521/SB0898, and I want you to vote it into law.” That’s it! Simple advocacy can go a long way in our fight to save lives.

Partnerships

Love Learning Music consistently builds partnerships to connect with children and families in need and fund life-saving work. This year, we are working increasingly with Metro Nashville Public Schools to pilot music therapy and education programs. Also, our beloved intern Kindred, has helped secure a partnership with Panera Bread to provide food for volunteers at an underserved elementary school and connect with Notes for Notes, a fantastic non-profit! We plan to start music therapy at a Notes for Notes studio this Spring.

Love Learning Music has another exciting new partnership thanks to the teamwork of our amazing program director, Kaitlyn, and our Founder/CEO’s wife, Sam. Hope Kids is a non-profit for families with children with life-threatening illnesses like cancer to find community and support through their battles. Love Learning Music is partnering to provide help with events, music therapy for children and families, and parent training to equip parents to help their children and families navigate difficult trials in life using music as a helpful tool.

Meet People Where They Are

Love Learning Music has 11 principles that govern how the entire organization operates. Our first principle is to meet people where they are. We have seen excellent results recently by meeting children and families where they are. Shelby is a Love Learning Music student who has found confidence, happiness, and boundless personal growth through music. Her dad is a single parent who is raising three children; can you imagine? We recently delivered a beautiful bass guitar to Shelby through our partnership with Instruments of Joy, an amazing non-profit ministry. Thankfully, we have donated the amp, tuner, cables, strap, and case, so Shelby is completely prepared for a lifetime of Love, Learning, & Music!

Daidrian & Alaya have been receiving consistent music therapy at their church. As they get close to the completion of their adoption process, they discover underlying trauma that needs healing. Whether they need to breathe and manage their emotions or celebrate life, music therapy has been a life-changing force for this brother and sister duo. They dream of becoming musical artists when they grow up so they can travel around to share singing and dancing for audiences to raise money for other children in need.

We would love to thank each and every one of you for supporting us through the years! Big things are on their way soon, so make sure to stay up to date on our newsletters to be part of it all!
